JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for assuring compliance with government regulations, and maintain positive government, franchise, and public relations by planning, implementing and directing external and internal programs.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience

Manage, plan, and implement organization's government franchise relations and public affairs policies and procedures

Prepare and present company positions before franchise authorities and community organizations

Manage press relations including such activities as preparation of news releases and feature articles, and the making of arrangements for interviews between company executives and press, radio, and television representatives

Maintain on-going professional and social contact as a problem solver with government/franchise officials and agencies in all franchise areas

Negotiate, draft, present and effect adoption of franchise documents including renewals, extensions, amendments, or other such requirements Perform other duties as requested by supervisor


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills / Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports and legal documents Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.) Ability to work independently Ability to write speeches and articles for publication and to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Knowledge of cable television products and services Past relations with local government or official media profession

Education
Bachelor's degree in business or political science or related field, or equivalent experience

Related Work Experience
Political/government relations experience
Lobbying and public relations experience
CATV experience

Certifications and/or Licenses
Valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record within Company required standards and auto insurance


WORKING CONDITIONS
Office environment
Frequent and regular travel as required
